Though ultimately WrestleMania 34 underwhelmed on almost every level, the opening match was a fantastic introduction to the biggest event of the year, setting a standard that, unfortunately, the majority of what followed couldn't live up to.

The triple threat match for The Miz's Intercontinental Title featured three incredibly hard working performers with chemistry to spare. Seth and Finn had previous history stretching back to SummerSlam 2016, The Miz seemingly has the ability to work with just about anyone, and having the Miztourage stay in the back allowed their leader to work a strong match without any of his typical antics.

One of the biggest appeals of this match going in was that any of the three of them could have walked out as Intercontinental Champion. It was wide open, immediately adding an element of excitement and uncertainty throughout, and the match itself allowed each participant to show off with some simply awesome spots.

Seth's double suicide dive, the buckle bomb to falcon arrow to Skull Crushing Finale sequence, and the Coup de Grace to break up a cover were all excellent, before a creative double stomp ended the match and won the title for White Walker Seth.
