It may have come from a questionable at best story line, but JBL Vs Finlay turned out to be a fun and surprising opening to WrestleMania 24. Buried in the 'Hornswoggle is Vince's son' arc, the two heavy hitters took to the ring for a Belfast Brawl, which was essentially a No-DQ match but, you know... Ireland!

As something almost reminiscent of Kane in the 2001 Royal Rumble, the trash can became the weapon of choice for much of the match. It's impossible not to enjoy a brawl like this, particularly with the added element of Hornswoggle getting obliterated by JBL and a bin.

This was a call back to the Attitude Era with Finlay's suicide dive into a shot from the bin lid highlighting the brutal and vicious nature of the match. No one could have predicted how good it would turn out to be, but somehow it worked brilliantly.
