It makes sense for a title match to open WrestleMania, with the idea of grabbing the audience's attention from the very start essential to producing a strong show. At WrestleMania XIX, it was Rey Mysterio challenging Matt Hardy for the Cruiserweight Championship, and it certainly kicked off the event in style.

At just over five minutes it didn't outstay it's welcome, but the pure pace with which the two wrestlers battled allowed them to really produce an entertaining spectacle. Rey in particular looked like he was a ball in a pinball machine, never stopping to catch his breath.

Channeling Daredevil with his ring gear, Mysterio immediately took to the sky, diving over the top rope into Hardy and his follower, Shannon Moore. The latter two would act as classic heels throughout the match while Mysterio handled the high flying entertainment the Cruiserweight division has always been synonymous with.
