10 Best Performances From Number 1 In WWE Royal Rumble Match
2. Triple H - 2006
Rey Mysterio won the 2006 Royal Rumble match from the number two spot, lasting a record-breaking 62 minutes and 12 seconds in the ring. However, he wasn't the only man to go over an hour that night.
Both Rey and Trips eliminated six men, even working together to eliminate some people, as their stories intertwined perfectly over the course of the match.
The Game scored some big eliminations, including Kane and The Big Show, and ended up as part of the final three alongside Rey and Randy Orton. Orton and Triple H rekindled their Evolution partnership and tried to eliminate Rey together, but this would ultimately cost Trips, who was taken out by Rey.
The story wasn't over there, as Triple H pulled Rey under the bottom rope and threw him into the steel steps. This added to Rey's underdog story, which culminated in Rey winning the whole match.
Triple H lasted a ridiculous length of time in this match, eliminated plenty of people, and helped play into the larger story of the match, offsetting Rey's babyface character by being the perfect heel.
Say what you will about Triple H, but when he wants to, he can really put people over.
