10 Best Performances From Number 1 In WWE Royal Rumble Match
3. Shawn Michaels - 1995
We couldn't do this list and not mention the first man to win the Rumble match from the number one spot.
Shawn Michaels became the first man to go the distance in 1995, when he survived a grueling 38 minutes (this is the shortest Rumble match in history with people entering every 60 seconds) to throw out the man he started the match with, The British Bulldog.
Michaels didn't just win the match from first place, but he did it in style. The Bulldog thought he was heading to WrestleMania when he threw Michaels over the top rope and seemingly to the floor. He celebrated like he'd won and even had his music played. Then, Michaels hopped back in the ring and threw him out. Say whaaaaaa?
As it turned out, only one of HBK's feet had touched the floor, meaning he had never been eliminated. He took advantage of Davey Boy's premature celebrations and stole the Rumble victory from right under his nose.
Michaels may not have lasted as long as some other entrants on this list, but he did provide one of the most memorable Rumble endings of all time and made history by becoming the first person to go bell-to-bell in the Rumble.
