10 Best Performers In WWE Money In The Bank History
6. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho makes this list not necessarily for his achievements in the match itself, but more for his role in innovating the concept of Money in the Bank.
The story goes that Jericho, dissatisfied with not having a feud for WrestleMania 21, came up with the multi-man match idea to give both himself and “the boys” a spot on the card.
However, the truth is slightly more contentious than that. Jericho was indeed instrumental in coming up with the idea, but it was more of a joint effort than many would have you believe. In his second book, Undisputed, Jericho reveals how he and Brian Gerwitz—a head writer at the time—collaborated on the idea before settling on an outcome.
Of course, it’s not quite as glamourous for the commentators to admit that, and thus the truth is often somewhat manipulated.
Nonetheless, Jericho is the man that more often than not is credited with the creation of the Money in the Bank concept. Add to that his four appearances and that awesome Walls of Jericho spot with John Morrison atop the ladder, and you’ve got a strong candidate for sixth spot on this list.
