10 Best Picks For New WWE Raw & Smackdown General Managers

9. Smackdown - Mick Foley

Edge and Christian 2015

Mick Foley is one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time and, as a personality, he was always engaging and likeable.

Lost in the landslide of WWE history that's come over the past generation, though, is the fact he already has experience as an authority figure - in 2000, just a few months after a loss to Triple H forced him to retire, Foley was appointed WWE Commissioner.

Foley's run as Commissioner was short, but he was a truly entertaining part of WWE TV. His antics with Edge and Christian are fondly remembered by fans who saw them, and while it was sometimes jarring to see him embrace a non-wrestling role so enthusiastically (he replaced all his tough-guy bravado and daredevil recklessness with comedy), it was nice to see him having so much fun.

It might be 16 years later, but Foley could certainly pick up where he left off. The Hardcore Legend has lost a good deal of weight since last year, meaning it would be easier for him to handle the physical exertion of the role. He may be a longshot, but he'd be great.
