10 Best Rock 'N' Sock Connection WWE Moments

Two of the most well loved characters in WWE history - joining forces for good.

Neither Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson nor Mick Foley need any introduction to people with even a passing interest in wrestling. The Rock has become famous outwith the sport by making a successful acting career and starring in many blockbuster films while the image of Foley being thrown off the top of Hell in a Cell by The Undertaker is one of the most iconic images in wrestling history.

Mankind was one of Mick's personas (alongside Dude Love and Cactus Jack) and the boiler-room dwelling masked wrestler got the fans on side with his awkward charm and the presumably awful-smelling sock that he used in his finisher.

The Rock was a multi-time champion who oozed charisma and had audiences all over the world hanging on his every word. While it was obvious the two men were excellent workers (and by all accounts, very nice people outside of the ring), there wasn't much similarity between the two characters.

So when they teamed up to form The Rock 'n' Sock Connection, there was no way that anyone could have predicted how over they would be. Here are just ten of their many great moments.

10. Tag Team Champions

While it is easy to get caught up in all the huge pops, the crazy fan reactions and the endless humour that happened every single time this duo was on stage together, it can actually be overlooked that they were in fact the tag team champions.

The Rock and Mankind had feuded over a number of match types and only recently ended a bitter rivalry in 1999. When The Rock was set to face the current tag champions in The Big Show and The Undertaker, Mankind offered his help.

The former enemies, now turned wary allies, claimed the belts with a victory at the end of August in 1999. Although they only held them for just over a week, as we will see later in this list, it was not to be the only time that the Rock 'n' Sock Connection sat atop the pile in the tag-team division.

In a trend that will be seen through almost every entry in this list, when this victory went down the crowd in attendance erupted. Despite being so different in every way, both of these men were so over it was impossible for the fans not to love them.
