The whole angle was pretty preposterous. At Backlash 2006, Shane teamed up with his father once more to take on the team of Shawn Michaels and 'God'. If you are new to the world of professional wrestling and for some reason this the first thing you are reading about the sport, your eyes do not deceive you - Shawn Michaels teamed with God. I like to think that WWE realised how insane this angle was and went all-in on it, because some of the touches were hilarious. God getting a spotlight down the ramp during his entrance was great, and the pre-match graphic was one of the funniest of all-time, depending on your sense of humour. The match itself is a really fun brawl, with Shane and HBK doing the majority of the work as one would expect. As with every McMahon match there is interference, this time coming from those goons the Spirit Squad. Yes, it took two McMahons and five cheerleaders to finally defeat Shawn Michaels...and God.
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
