10 Best Simultaneous WWE/WCW Heavyweight Champions

5. Ric Flair/Sting - 1992

By early 1992, the top of the mainstream wrestling world looked exactly as NWA/WCW had foretold it several years earlier after Ric Flair made good on all his potential with a Royal Rumble WWE Championship win just months into his brave new frontier.

In the absence of 'The Nature Boy' down south, Sting had become the all-rounder he'd been pegged as from the moment the bell rang at the gripping inaugural Clash Of The Champions cracker with 'Slick Ric'.

In career form, they remained polar opposites despite being on either side of the pro wrestling divide. Bringing his legacy along (in a manner not in keeping with how WWE traditionally introduced new characters), Flair's contests with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and others were added to his legendary CV by design.

Sting, meanwhile, toppled perpetual frenemy Lex Luger to kick off his latest stint with the strap before eventually running head-first into a Vader-shaped wall later that year. Merging Ultimate Warrior's muscles with Bret Hart's brain, he was a wrestler's wrestler in spite of the painted face - all while his iconic rival was reimagining Vince McMahon's top line in the opposing territory.
