10 Best Star Trek Crossover Episodes
6. Generations
It's virtually impossible to ignore Generations as a Star Trek crossover because it is the Star Trek crossover. For years fans had debated how and when Kirk and Picard would eventually share the same screen, and their answer came with a franchise event that was designed to be a hugely significant passing of the torch.
Pickup up not long after the events of The Undiscovered Country, the launch of the Excelsior Class Enterprise-B takes a turn for the predictable when some trademark space distress breaks out. Kirk, onboard as a ceremonial special guest, leaps both into action and immediately out of a giant hole into space. He's assumed dead, everybody mourns, and that's the end of it.
Fast forward to the Next Generation era where, the same wavey terror of space distress is back again, and this time Captain Picard is swept up into having failed to stop the man from A Clockwork Orange from destroying a planet. He meets Kirk, gives him a pep talk, and manages to convince him to leave behind an eternity of happiness to instead die a painful death on a collapsing bridge.
Jean-Luc, you son of a bitch, I'm in!
