While the Ankle Lock has become an iconic part of Kurt Angle's in-ring arsenal, the 'Olympic Hero' probably should've picked a more efficient finisher. He put plenty of opponents away with the hold, but it has always been easily reversible, with countless foes locking the current Raw General Manager in his own move over the years.

They didn't all succeed in tapping Angle out, but for a while, opponents reversing the Ankle Lock was a regular occurrence, with one of the more notable examples coming in September 2003.

Kurt's Iron Man match with Brock Lesnar is perhaps the best in the stipulation's history. They created an immense amount of drama, with 'The Beast' taking a deliberate DQ to lose first fall, though his chair assault allowed him to take the second. Then, the monster decided he'd add insult to injury. With Angle still on the floor, Brock grabbed his leg, applied the Ankle Lock, and forced the Olympian to submit to his own move.

Angle fought back, and had Lesnar tapping to the Ankle Lock for the ninth and final fall, but still lost 5-4.
