This pay-per-view was built around a three-way feud between Kurt Angle, The Rock, and Undisputed Champion The Undertaker, who'd survived an interference from 'The People's Champion' to retain the belt at King of the Ring one month prior. Several weeks of back-and-forth action followed, with each man taking it in turns to stand tall over the others, and this is precisely how their match played out too.

Each dropped only their biggest bombs in a match that amounted to little more than a finisher shootout. Sure, there wasn't much psychology on display, but it was bags of fun regardless, particularly when the trio began steal each other's moves.

It started early. Rocky laid 'Taker out with a Chokeslam, then went right after Kurt Angle, who soon found himself trapped in an Ankle Lock. The Olympian wasn't going to stand for this, though. He rolled out of the move, got to his feet, and drilled 'The People's Champ' with a Rock Bottom. Undertaker, not wanting to feel left out, completed the roulette by taking the ascendent 'Olympic Hero' out with an Angle Slam.

How did the bout end? With Rocky hitting his move, the Rock Bottom, on Kurt. How very boring...
