Between ornery, ill-tempered Austin, the resiliently-scheming Triple H, and a match that featured brawling, blood loss, a steel cage, and even a little barbed wire, you essentially had an Attitude Era Greatest Hits collection across the span of 40 minutes.

Austin's return from spinal surgery in 2000 marked an unexpected shift in his style. One would've expected him to continue the stand-up, arena-encompassing brawling that was Attitude's hallmark (since bumping is less necessary). Instead, Austin went in the opposite direction, blending a more physical wrestling style with that simpler brawling that had been his norm ever since Owen Hart broke his neck in 1997.
