10 Best Tag Teams In Wrestling Right Now

9. The Briscoe Brothers

WWE elected not to follow through with their tentative interest in the Briscoe Brothers because they deemed them "not cosmetically pleasing," which, Jesus Christ. That is an abject lesson in missing the point.

They were never going to fit into that polished, scripted environment, anyway. Jay and Mark Briscoe are as evergreen as the Delaware pastures in which they cut often hilariously un-PC promos. In fairness, the "you looked better when you was fat, b*tch" missive levelled at David Otunga's wife, Jennifer Hudson, can be read as a body positive message. That would assume however that the Briscoes give the slightest iota of a f*ck. They do not.

They are a throwback to a time in which wrestlers were actual, troublemaking outlaws. They are anachronistic in everything but their in-ring game, which they don't really get enough credit for evolving throughout the several years they've been at the top level. The Briscoes are a proper tag team - a literal brotherhood whose in-ring work is as authentic as their bond.

You can buy every save and double team as something genuine because it feels and probably is inherent to them.
