It is only now, after the heel turn that nobody saw coming, that Sami Zayn is getting regular opportunities to show that he has the promo work to match his excellent in-ring skills.
Although he shined as the emotive underdog in his storyline with Mick Foley and Braun Strowman, the move to SmackDown - which was supposed to propel Zayn into the spotlight - actually limited his time on the microphone, until his recent reconciliation with Kevin Owens.
Zayn has been nothing short of brilliant in his new role, despite WWE doing their best to ruin the anti-authority angle by leaving him and KO off the Survivor Series card, and has quickly and entertainingly found his feet as the smarmy and annoyingly-joyful voice of rebellion.
