10 Best Things About WWE Network After One Year

8. Every Saturday Night's Main Event And Clash Of Champions

If you grew up watching wrestling in the late 1980s or 1990s then you know all about how special those WWE Saturday Night's Main Event specials were as well as the NWA/WCW Clash of the Champions events. These shows were crucial in the development of major storylines leading to major events. Since Raw started in 1993, the only other shows where storyline stuff happened were shows like Superstars on the weekend. Most of the time Superstars was boring because it was just jobber matches with a decent main event. During a SNME show you got to see a lot of stars as well as major angles taking place. The Clash of Champions events are even better. Even though NWA/WCW was running PPV broadcasts in those days, the Clash events were a nice addition to their programming. We got to see classic matches like Sting taking Ric Flair to the limit in a 45 minute draw or Flair battling the likes of Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk. They were great wrestling shows. Both shows continued during the Raw/Nitro era with several Clash events taking place in the late 1990s and WWE bringing back SNME in the mid-2000s, but they lost their appeal. These shows featured big matches as well as storylines that fans of all ages should check out on WWE Network.
