10 Best Things About WWE Network After One Year

4. Steve Austin Podcast Specials

Vince McMahon was the ultimate guest for a Steve Austin podcast special because WWE's Chairman likes to keep things close to the vest, so to speak. In December, McMahon joined Austin for a podcast that just so happened to air the day after WWE's free month of November for the WWE Network ended. The McMahon interview was revealing because he covered a number of different subjects with online fans getting riled up because of his criticism of Cesaro among others. McMahon also made comments about superstars grabbing the proverbial "brass rings" even though it's tough sometimes since everything in WWE is so carefully scripted all the time. While the interview was going on, fans were raving about how incredible it was. Austin asked the right kinds of questions and McMahon did the best he could to answer them in an honest way even though sometimes you have to question his authenticity. Austin's second WWE Network video podcast with Triple H was also very insightful. They related to each other well since they grew up in WWE together although obviously Hunter has lasted longer. It was great to hear Austin talk about how awesome NXT while Hunter admitted things like how he wished Raw was back to two hours and that the divas were given a chance to wrestle more. His comments about Chyna led to a firestorm that Hunter probably didn't want, but that's how it goes sometimes. There have only been two Austin podcasts on the WWE Network (his regular podcasts are on PodcastOne two times per week), but both of them were huge successes. We're waiting for more.
