8. The NXT Women's Division

Becky Lynch’s brilliance and Ronda Rousey’s undeniable star power mean WWE’s main roster women have taken the Revolution back from their developmental counterparts in 2018. It’s easy to see why, but a quick glance through NXT’s ranks reveals a group as talented as it has ever been, even if they aren’t quite stars on the same level.

Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler was quietly one of the feuds of the year and peaked with a near-perfect TakeOver: War Games sprint. Beneath those two are the likes of Io Shirai, who’s genuinely one of the best in the world, along with Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and the polished Mia Yim. It goes even deeper, too. Look at Bianca Belair, Lacey Evans, and Deonna Purrazzo and you’ll realise that there are promising performers at every level on this pyramid, and it’s only going to get better as time passes.

NXT could definitely benefit from booking more women’s programmes outside the main title picture. Regardless, this group promises to keep the scene stocked for years to come, and we can’t wait to watch them grow.
