10 Best Times AEW Threw Shade At WWE

9. Mocking The Invisible Wall

AEW is different to WWE in that it embraces professional wrestling and is not beholden to an idiosyncratic production style.

This was illustrated on an early Dynamite in an angle that built the Full Gear match between Cody and Chris Jericho. Jericho and the Inner Circle sat as fans in an executive box, just to be complete, innate d*ckweeds, as all heels should be. They goaded Cody and his Nightmare Family into a confrontation - unwittingly.

As Cody reminded them, there was no invisible wall like in the "other company". He wasn't scripted to stand there, in a contrived and dumb when-you-think-about-it scenario, and so he didn't have to; with the help of MJF, Dustin Rhodes and Diamond Dallas Page, he walked up the stands, punched through a glass door and instigated a tremendously fun concessions stand brawl in which Jericho stole a man's crutch to use it as a weapon. This wasn't a snide and needless remark, like the barb aimed at Damien Priest. This served a purpose.

This alerted AEW fans to the idea that this was a captured event, not a produced show, one on which the action could spill anywhere.
