6. Randy Orton

Take Batista's earlier entry, replace him with then-dupe Randy Orton, add the ever-brilliant AJ Styles and you get this moment from the 30 December 2019 edition of Raw. It was quite the ride, and a nice surprise considering how unbelievable (in a literal sense) some of these injury angles can be nowadays.

24 hours before that show, reports flooded social media that Randy had injured his knee during a house show match against AJ. The internet treated this news as legit, and it certainly seemed like it when Orton hobbled out on Raw using crutches. Things hit home further when his voice cracked as he admitted he'd be out for quite some time.

Everyone bought it, including Styles' bragging heel character.

He was booked to be as shocked as anyone when Randy then nailed him with an RKO "out of nowhere" and continued their feud. The live crowd in Hartford had been caught out, which made things even more fun, and the angle was a winner because of that amazed reaction.
