10 Best Times Wrestlers Faked Life-Changing Injuries
5. Randy Orton (Again)
Only time will tell on this one, but it seems like a storyline ploy.
Randy Orton could well be up to his old tricks here. His bleating about intense pain, physical scarring and mental anguish on the 18 January 2021 Raw sounded far-fetched, and that might be intentional. There's a decent chance that this is Orton's way of getting Bray Wyatt to let his guard down.
Again, this is up in the air - some won't agree that it's wise for Randy to trick Wyatt. However, he doesn't have to pull wool over the eyes of the 'Fiend'. Instead, he can play to the childlike humanity of Bray's 'Firefly Fun House' host character, or the swing-loving little girl gimmick Alexa Bliss on/off plays.
It's interesting, if nothing else, and did lead to one of the best Orton promos in living memory on Raw. If he can bottle that kind of passion and pacing, and add in even more subterfuge, then this will be epic in the long run.
