10 Best TNA Matches Of All Time

10. Kurt Angle Vs Desmond Wolfe - Final Resolution 2009

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWHcU3SL-pI Desmond Wolfe (aka ROH's beloved Nigel McGuinness) is one of the lost stars of TNA. Despite easily possessing enough technical skill to become one of the company's top stars, he was never elevated enough to fulfil his true potential. We saw glimpses of his greatness in this "Three Degrees of Pain" match with Kurt Angle, a take on WWE's Three Stages of Hell stipulation. Despite feeling quite drawn out - clocking in at well over 20 minutes long - and suffering a slightly contrived ending, with Angle scrambling over the top just as Wolfe crawls to the door, it still contains enough compelling action to make it onto this list. Wolfe secured the first fall (pinfall) with his patented tower of London finisher, while Angle snagged the second (submission) with the grapevined version of the ankle lock. An amazing moment came in the third fall (escape) when Angle jumped down from the side of the cage and was met with an instinctive kick to the arm from Wolfe. Both men sold the damage to their respective limbs like death, playing up the fact that they'd been working over those particular body parts for the entire match. Ultimately a great contest between an ageing veteran and a top quality newcomer, with the Olympian just about managing to pull off the win - a win Wolfe could arguably have benefited more from.
