10 Best UFC Fighters Of The Decade
5. Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib Nurmagomedov currently holds the longest active undefeated streak in MMA and if that isn't enough to validate his inclusion on this list, the rich selection of names he's conquered in this decade surely will.
Bursting onto the UFC scene in 2012 with a dominant submission victory over Kamal Shalorus, 'The Eagle' then decided to completely dismantle the Lightweight division and pulverised the likes of Rafael dos Anjos, Michael Johnson, Edson Barboza, before he finally conquered Al Iaquinta for the vacant Lightweight title at UFC 223.
If that dominant streak heading into his title victory wasn't impressive in its own right, he would up the ante once more in his absolute mauling of Conor McGregor in the two's bitter grudge match at UFC 229.
Dustin Poirier would then also fall to the champ, before Nurmagomedov showed some real class in donating $100k to Poirier's charity in the wake of their clash at UFC 242.
His indomitable presence in the Octagon over the last decade has been truly incredible to witness and - as of 2019 - only Tony Ferguson looks like a serious threat to the undefeated legacy of the current champ.
His continual reign as the number one fighter in the Lightweight division may not be guaranteed, but his place as one of the stars of the decade certainly is.
