10 Best Ways AEW Can Book Sting

7. Authority Figure

Cody Sting Aew
TNA

Since AEW was conceived, the company has come up with many unique presentation elements for their programming that have certainly set them apart from the rest of the world's top wrestling promotions. One jarring missing element, however, is the role of a general manager, or just a clear cut authority figure in general. Of course, the shows are booked by Tony Khan and the rest of his Elite EVPs, but that is never actually acknowledged on camera. Khan is seen rarely, and when he is, it's not like he's making matches; he just appears in the gorilla position or as apart of backstage segments.

While it is welcome to have a break from the obnoxious GM that takes up way too much screen time that we've suffered through in other promotions, it is still a nice touch of legitimacy. With AEW claiming to be the company that presents its product as a legitimate sport, why no GM?

Here is where Sting can come in handy. Tony Khan can announce that he has decided to let Sting run the day-to-day operations of AEW Dynamite, while he takes a back seat to focus on making sure everything runs smoothly on the production side of things. It isn't like Sting is inexperienced in the role either, because if long time IMPACT Wrestling fans remember, Sting spent a short time as their authority figure and actually flourished in the position. He was no nonsense, straight to the point and wasn't swayed by alliances, essentially the perfect GM, and exactly what AEW needs.
