There was nothing nice about seeing Daniel Bryan struggle to fight back tears upon succumbing to his injuries in February 2016, but it was admirable to see the world-class wrestler take the time to thank those who had supported him. WWE gave Bryan the platform to do so, and they stood by him during a mentally fragile time.

Hearing Daniel speak of how much he enjoyed being a professional wrestler made the segment emotional for everyone, especially when footage was released of his tearful embrace with Brie Bella backstage. Being a wrestler meant the world to Bryan, but a combination of injuries had forced him from the ring.

WWE didn't rush Daniel's exit, as he was given a fair chunk of time on Raw to say goodbye to those who had turned him into a World Champion. As one of WWE's greatest examples of how powerful an organic connection between wrestler and fan can be, Bryan deserved the chance to address the situation in front of his people.
