10 Best Ways WWE Could Bring Back Its Missing Wrestlers
8. John Cena
This story writes itself.
Ever since John Cena won the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2017, fans have fantasy booked his final championship programme. Cena should be attempting to break Ric Flair's legendary record (the two are currently tied at 16 reigns each.)
The money match here is John Cena Vs. Roman Reigns. Their match at No Mercy 2017 was a dud, from both an in-ring and character perspective. Neither man could be properly identified as a heel or babyface, leading to a murky dynamic in the match. Having Cena return as a full babyface to challenge The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns would be incredible.
Roman has proved that he can hold his own in terms of promos and seeing him match up with Cena again would be magic. Both characters are motivated when it comes to the championship and this would make the feud feel even more intense and justified. This wouldn't be a part-time run for Cena. He would have to build himself up to the main event again before taking on The Head Of The Table, similar to Christian Cage in AEW.
Not having Cena at least attempt to break Ric Flair's record is a huge waste of potential. Right now, it seems The Big Dog is the best option for a John Cena return.
