10 Best WCW Monday Nitro Matches Ever

5. Ric Flair Vs. Randy Savage (June 17, 1996)

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x78kdm_nitro-96-ric-flair-vs-randy-savage_shortfilms There are so many great Flair vs. Savage matches from both WWE and WCW. In most instances, Flair was the heel and Savage was the face, which was the case here. Flair had Woman, Elizabeth and Debra in his corner as well as the Four Horsemen to support him. Savage was the loner that was as wired as ever. This was one of the most intense matches in Nitro because they worked at such a fast pace. Savage was at his best in WCW as a wildman. He was so intense in this match and at one point he even poured a bottle of champagne on Flair's head. That's because there happened to be a table nearby while the referee didn't count them out even though they were out of the ring for a long time. Just when it looked like Savage would win following a ref bump and a Flying Elbow off the top rope, Flair got some help from Chris Benoit, but Savage dropped him with a piledriver. Savage tossed Arn Anderson out of the ring. Then Steve McMichael showed up, nailed Savage with a briefcase two times in a row and that was it, giving Flair the win after 13 minutes. It was a wild match that proved the veterans still had plenty left in the tank. Two of the best wrestlers ever doing what they do best.
