10 Best Worked Shoots In WWE History

9. Matt Hardy Lifts The Lid On Edge & Lita

After being unceremoniously fired following the messy awkwardness of the love triangle between himself, Edge, and Lita, the return of Matt Hardy was big news in 2005.

In a literal case of insult to injury, the affair took place while Hardy was off the road nursing a partially torn PCL in his knee. The subsequent issues arising from the real-life relationship saw Hardy unjustly fired from WWE, while Edge and Lita became two of the most legitimately hated members of the WWE roster as a result.

After a number of worked shoot appearances - including jumping Edge before a match on Raw and a particularly heated exchange with Lita on Byte This - Hardy made his official return to WWE TV on 1 August.

Hardy addressed Edge and Lita by their real names - Amy and Adam - while also making note of the previous kayfabe storyline with Kane as fictitious. The former 'Sensei of Mattitude' then pulled back the curtain even further and gave his side of the story.

Telling Edge that he ruined his personal life and destroyed his professional dreams, Hardy walked the tightrope so finely that it was genuinely hard to tell if he was working or shooting. Whether or not he knew himself is up for debate.
