3. WrestleMania 3 - The Slam Heard Round The World
This match is now widely looked back upon as an awful, lumbering encounter - but that doesn't really matter. The iconic image everybody remembers from WrestleMania 3 is Hulk Hogan hoisting the enormous bulk of Andre aloft, ready to slam him back down to the canvas and send the WWF skyrocketing to a new level of popularity. Truly one of the most famous moments in wrestling history, it must be regarded as one of the greatest conclusions to any WrestleMania - and there will be those who still justifiably view it as the best bar none. It is important to recognise the importance of the storytelling leading up to the now-legendary bodyslam. Andre and Hogan were billed as the best of friends, a pair of dominant faces in a company populated by countless monster heels and shady villains. The Giant's eventual turn was incredibly effective, stemming from implied jealousy at Hulk's stardom, and featured an iconic image of its own: Andre's callous ripping of Hogan's crucifix from around his neck. All of this increased the drama and spectacle of the eventual match, transforming it from an impressive feat of strength into a moment for the ages.
