Few storylines are as masterfully crafted over time as the now-legendary rivalry between the ageing Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. It arguably began at the 2007 Royal Rumble, where both men (having already clashed numerous times throughout their storied careers) fought tooth-and-nail to win the main event. 'Taker dumped Shawn out in his hometown of San Antonio, and - despite a show of mutual respect between the two - kickstarted their feud once more. A few years later, at 'Mania 25, the pair delivered one of the best matches in the history of the event as Michaels attempted desperately to break the streak - to no avail. The match stole the show on an otherwise lacklustre card and a rematch was hastily arranged, centring around HBK's obsessive desire to defeat the Deadman once and for all. His manic reaction to elimination from the 2010 Royal Rumble - which would have granted him a ticket to face the now-champion Undertaker - ramped up the drama a further notch, as did his interference in the subsequent Elimination Chamber PPV, costing 'Taker his title and provoking his fury. Undertaker agreed to face Shawn, but only if HBK put his career on the line. Both parties agreed and delivered another classic which, although perhaps not quite as flawless as the first, was packed with arguably more emotion. The send off Michaels received after his eventual defeat was nothing short of breathtaking, and - unlike many other wrestlers - seems to have genuinely stuck by his retirement from in-ring competition.
