10 Best Wrestlers In WWE Over The Age Of 40

1. AJ Styles

Forget your age brackets, because AJ Styles has got to go down as the best wrestler in the entire company whichever side of 40 he sits on.

As it happens, Styles celebrated his 40th back in June, though you'd never know it from his ring-work. He’s been far and away the company’s standout performer since signing on in January of last year. And barring the signing of a Kenny Omega, there’s nothing to suggest that’ll change anytime soon.

In his 20 months with the company, he’s already been involved in seven four-and-a-half star matches, captured both the WWE and US Championships and—perhaps most impressively— helped guide Shane McMahon to a match-of-the-night performance at WrestleMania 33.

Above all else, the fact that the company’s pushed a former TNA stalwart, to the point of making him World champion in his very first year, tells you all you need to know about his talent.

You could argue it’s a shame we didn’t see Styles make it to WWE sooner, but if he keeps going at this current rate, he may yet achieve more than many manage in an entire career with the company.
