'The Youngest and Fastest Rising Star in the History of Professional Wrestling' is not only a tremendous heel nickname, but barely an exaggeration for a 24-year-old who is already this great at so many aspects of the sport despite spending only a single year as a nationally-televised performer.

MJF is a classical pro wrestling heel updated for modern palates. His foundation is built from tried and tested techniques and stylistic choices that worked as well for Ric Flair and Nick Bockwinkel in the '70s and '80s as they do today, though far from being stuck in the past, MJF embraces the modern as well. Nothing exemplifies this better than his Double Or Nothing clash with Jungle Boy. Laid out like an old-school territory battle, it was psychologically rich without sacrificing the adrenaline spikes today's audiences feast upon, and another sign of growth after an excellent stooging performance opposite Cody Rhodes at Revolution.

The Jon Moxley feud was a well-played battle of styles and ideologies from the moment they first crossed paths up until the final bell. Now, as he infiltrates The Inner Circle, 'The Salt of the Earth' is about to be positioned opposite one of AEW's foremost star-makers in Chris Jericho, though MJF's rise still has more to do with himself than anyone else. His perfectly-calibrated heel character will take him to the top.
