10 Best Wrestlers Of 2022

Honourable Mentions

Toni Storm
AEW

Professional wrestling is an embarrassment of riches at the moment. Dozens of wrestlers could conceivably have broken onto this list, particularly in the wake of WWE rebounding so strongly under Triple H's penmanship. Let's run through some notable omissions.

Starting with WWE, Bobby Lashley, Sheamus, GUNTHER, and Becky Lynch have had excellent years and should consider themselves unlucky. If Cody Rhodes hadn't gotten hurt, he would have been a dead lock for the upper echelons. Should he keep hitting at a similar level when he comes back, 'The American Nightmare' will make a legend of himself, World Title or no World Title.

Similarly, a full year of Toni Storm in AEW would have made for a compelling argument, given how restorative her Women's World Title reign felt to that company's struggling division. Bryan Danielson is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time but wasn't always given the opportunity to show it in 2022. Eddie Kingston defied shaky booking to enter a sneakily good year, while Chris Jericho deserves immense praise for once again reinventing himself in the face of cynicism.

It truly pained your writer to not find room for Tomohiro Ishii and Mike Bailey here. If this was his personal list, you'd see TJPW's Miyu Yamashita, STARDOM's Giulia, Starlight Kid, and Syuri, and DDT's Kazusada Higuchi as well.

In the end, the top three were separated by the tiniest of margins. Each of these wrestlers could have made the top spot. The line was super, super thin...
