10 Best Wrestlers Who Never Held The IMPACT World Championship

4. Desmond Wolfe

Where, oh where, do we start with Desmond Wolfe?

The then-former Nigel McGuinness was coming into IMPACT having already held the ROH World Championship for 545 days and the ROH Pure Championship for 350 days. His first storyline in what was then TNA was against Kurt Angle, resulting in two certified bangers at the 2009 Turning Point and Final Resolution pay-per-views.

Wolfe lost. Both times. You can see where problems for the guy in IMPACT began.

The fan support for him was there, though, to the point that Desmond was voted number one by fans which meant he was guaranteed a World Championship opportunity. Go back a minute, read it again; the fans were fully behind Desmond Wolfe.

IMPACT didn't have the same idea in mind, however; they gave him his one-on-one title match alright, but had him lose to defending champion Rob Van Dam in three f*cking minutes. The company just didn't view poor Des as World Championship material. It's no wonder he only lasted a year and a half under contract there, with his last month merely being as a commentator for Xplosion.

IMPACT Wrestling didn't need to wait to crown Magnus as their first British-born World Champion in 2013. They'd already found the guy for the job in 2009 when they signed Wolfe. This one's a genuine travesty.
