9. Jimmy Jacobs

Jimmy Jacobs may currently be working for WWE as a writer but it was as an evil presence that he made his name in Ring of Honor. Jacobs was a five-time tag champion in the promotion, winning gold alongside Tyler Black (twice), BJ Whitmer (twice) and Steve Corino, yet the Zombie Princess was never able to win singles gold in ROH.

Jacobs was an integral part of Ring of Honor throughout his 12 years with the company but was unable to dethrone the champion on the nine occasions he challenged for the title. When The Age of the Fall arrived on the scene in 2007 Jacobs found himself positioned as the big bad of the company, yet despite defeating former champion Bryan Danielson it would be a year before Jacobs received a world title shot.

He was unsuccessful against Nigel McGuiness (obviously) and the ROH World Championship would elude him throughout his in-ring career. Jacobs is remembered more for his character work than his wrestling but his heel persona and ability to make all stories work in the company surely earned him a run as the top guy, a run that unfortunately never came.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
