8. Edge
WWE.comIn terms of championships, perhaps Edge has to be considered the most successful Dungeon student. The Toronto native went on to win 31 overall championships in his WWE career, including 11 World Championships (WWE title four times, Heavyweight title a record setting 7 times). However, Edge very much benefited from the era he competed in. With two shows in the 2000's decade it became far easier for competitors to amass title reigns. As such you have guys like Randy Orton on 12 championship reigns whereas 90's megastars like Steve Austin only managed 6 WWF title reigns. Still, Edge was clearly a great talent. He made his name in crash and burn ladder matches during the Attitude Era, but there was never any doubt he had sound technical fundamentals. He learned some of his craft in the Hart Family Dungeon, being tutored by Bret Hart himself who was at the house recovering from a knee injury in 1997. Edge had already gained experience on the indie scene, but it was here at the dungeon where he earned the credentials to grab the WWF's attention. He'd bet everything on the dungeon, spending the last of his money to travel and stay in Calgary for the basement schooling. Fellow graduates that summer were Test, Ken Shamrock and Mark Henry, but it was the Rated R Superstar who emerged the long term wrestling icon.
