10 Best Wrestlers Who Were Trained At The Hart Dungeon

7. Superstar Billy Graham

WWE.comWWE.comProof of the historical relevance of the Dungeon is that Stu's tutelage stretched all the way back to Superstar Billy Graham in 1970. Then going by his real name of Wayne Coleman, he started training with Stu after abandoning a career in bodybuilding. It had at the time looked like he would end up playing Canadian Football League, but instead fell in love with pro wrestling. He trained in the dungeon and went on to make his mat debut in Stampede. Just seven years later and he was headlining Madison Square Garden as WWF Champion. Graham's quick rise to stardom can be attributed to the fundamentals Stu gave to the wrestler during his dungeon baptism. He worked for Stampede for a while before going to the AWA and getting over big. It wasn't just the muscles and the ring work, Graham was colourful, he had charisma, he was Hulk Hogan before there was a Hulk Hogan. The WWF spotted this and brought this brash 'new school' wrestler to the company, firstly in 1975, and secondly for a title run in 77. He defeated none other than the WWF's lynchpin Bruno Sammartino, which tells you everything you need to know about how highly the WWF viewed the Superstar.
