10 Best Wrestling Entrance Themes Of WWE's Ruthless Aggression Era

6. The Rock - Is Cookin' (Jim Johnston)

The Rock's 2003 heel turn was a cavalcade of douchebaggery and I mean that in best way possible. For a superstar who was as beloved as The Rock it is a testament to his true showmanship that he was able to get people to hate the very things that had originally endeared him to them. His trademark arrogance was turned up to eleven and his catchphrases were drowned out in boos. Sure there was the odd cheap heat tactic but the fact that The Great One would stoop so low to get a rise from a local crowd only strengthened the character.

It was clear that this new heel persona would need a different entrance. The loud “Do you smell what The Rock is cooking?” was replaced by a slow, drawn out orchestral build set to images of jet planes and skyscrapers. The Rock was making us wait and flaunting a visual representation of his success at the same time and we loved hating him for it.

The rest of the song was a slowed down and embellished version of his infamous theme with a more digital feel whilst considerable oomph was added to the bass. The whole song was the perfect accompaniment to any arrogant strut and was a fantastic yet subtle re-imagining of an established theme.
