Some may groan and moan at Primo and Epico featuring on any list with the word 'best' in the title, I don't think anyone can disagree with the change they have made in 2016. Los Matadores was fun for all of five minutes, but quickly headed into bullsh*t territory. With El Torito gone, there was truly no point to the gimmick anymore.

The Shining Stars may have taken forever to actually debut, but disingenuous but overly-enthusiastic Puerto Ricans is a much better fit for the duo. They can float around the tag division, and a tag title run isn't out of the question eventually for the two. This was practically unthinkable as Los Matadores.

Sure, they aren't the world's most entertaining duo, but in a division that contains New Day, Gallws & Anderson and Enzo & Big Cass they don't need to be. Quietly proficient pro wrestlers from a really nice place is a big upgrade from offensively stereotypical bullfighters.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
