The Miz reinvented himself in 2016, and for proof, one need look no further than his feud with Dolph Ziggler. That program seemed tired when it started - they'd already feuded in years past - but The Miz brought the best out of "The Showoff" and the result was a great series of matches.

The last one came at TLC 2015, where Miz put his Intercontinental Title on the line in a ladder match. As announced beforehand, this would be the final bout between the two men regardless of the winner, so they left everything on the line. Dolph was able to outclass The Miz in the early goings, but the Intercontinental Champion resorted to working on both of the challenger's legs in order to render him immobile. A figure-four leglock around the ladder did just that.

Unfortunately for The Miz, a fall from the belt hook took its toll on his own knee, and so both men had difficulty climbing. Miz set up a pair of ladders to go for the title, but Dolph knocked him down and climbed the ladders himself. It looked like gold was his, but The Miz roused himself to life, ran up the ladder, gave Dolph a pair of low blows, and retrieved his Intercontinental Title.
