Extreme Rules 2012 was one hell of a show. CM Punk and Chris Jericho took each apart in a Chicago Street Fight, and it was only good enough to earn the honour of third best match on the night. The beef between the two started pure enough, but soon morphed into Jericho trying to crack Punk's straight edge lifestyle.

The pre-match promo video is brought to us by Jerichoholics Anonymous, which is pretty fantastic. The match also took place in Chicago, guaranteeing a hotter than hot crowd for hometown hero CM Punk.

This was another match that topped its precursor at the show of shows. Both men were deeper into the story at this point, giving these two master storytellers more to play off. Jericho in particular is fantastic throughout, and the use of weapons from start to finish is not only clever, but also makes sense! How rare in a wrestling street fight!

Punk wins to carry on his record-breaking reign.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
