7. Edge Vs. Kane Vs. Drew McIntyre Vs. Wade Barrett Vs. Rey Mysterio Vs. Big Show - Elimination Chamber 2011
A number of Elimination Chamber matches have taken place in February over the past few years, yet they all tend to blend into one. After a while it felt like they were following the same format, with two workers starting the match before a big guy comes in and cleans house, leading to a surprising elimination and eventually the champion retaining. As such picking one out of that bundle is difficult, but the 2011 World Heavyweight Championship version stands out in my mind. The line up of competitors was the best type of varied, with a great mix of veterans, young stars, technical workers and power houses, and this translated well in the match itself. Drew McIntyre in particular put a great performance in, managing to find unique forms of offence in the tired Chamber format. Fiery intense McIntyre is one of the best wrestlers on the planet, period. He is eventually eliminated in fairly weak fashion by Kane, and it is a testament to the quality of the match that it doesn't damage it. Edge and Mysterio started the match out and it all boils down to those two, and their chemistry comes out in a fantastic closing stretch. The crowd were greatly into it too, which always helps. Edge hits Mysterio with the spear for the win, moving on to defeat Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania in what would be his last match.
