10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Week (July 18)
9. Ethan Carter III vs. Drew Galloway (TNA)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azn0iuyqFpkIn the first match of the night on TNA Impact, the new authority (or whatever TNA calls him) Bully Ray announced that whoever won an opening match 20-man battle royal would go on to face Ethan Carter III for his TNA Championship. Drew Galloway survived 19 other men to earn that shot.
What was mostly a good match did sour a little by the ending. Galloway's former stable mate, Eli Drake, came out on his injured leg to neutralize Tyrus' chances of interfering.
After an inadvertent elbow to referee Brian Hebner's face, EC3's big man expectedly came into the ring to help out the Champ. Drake hopped into the ring brandishing a crutch, making Tyrus back off.
Drake turned on his buddy and bent his crutch off of the back of Galloway. His leg was fine and he walked out of the ring without the limp that brought him in. Carter applied his 0ne percenter move to finish Drew off and retain his title.
The match was good but the wacky ending kept it from being great.
