10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Week (June 20)

2. Prince Puma vs. Johnny Mundo (Lucha Underground)

Lucha Underground only aired one match this week but it was all they needed. Billed with an "All Night Long" stipulation, this Johnny Mundo challenge against Prince Puma for his Lucha Underground Championship was essentially an Ironman match.

What made this bout better than other great matches from the past week was the pacing. There never was a dull moment. Even the non-fighting moments served a purpose to the story of Mundo's strategy.

Mundo was able to establish a 4-1 lead in the pin count thanks to a crowbar shot to the head and a few back-to-back falls. He would try to exploit his lead by not engaging with Puma afterwards.

When Mundo attempted to stall by taking a mariachi break with the house band, Puma turned the tides in his favor by spearing him off of their upper elevation and crashing through four tables below. It was an awesome spot.

Mundo would start up the evasion again when Puma came within one fall. Then, a vengeful Alberto El Patron interfered and physically forced Mundo back into action.

Puma finally overcame his deficit and retained his title in a match that in any other week could've easily been the best. Puma and Mundo fell short of the top spot due to what might have been the best match of the year from WWE's Money in the Bank event...
