Every year, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla holds the Battle of Los Angeles tournament - a 24-man "best of the indies" series that typically features some of the finest wrestling of the year. The 2016 edition of the tournament was no different, but the absolute best match of the three shows wasn't a tourney match - it was a six-man tag featuring six of the planet's best cruiserweights.

When Adam Cole joined Bullet Club in July of 2016, it ushered in a new era for the stable. Now, not only would the group be dominant in New Japan Pro Wrestling, but they also stood to take over Ring of Honor. Sure enough, Cole soon won the ROH Championship, and with The Young Bucks, formed the "Superkliq" stable-within-a-stable. In order to capitalize on the their heat, PWG booked them against NJPW cruiserweights (and three of the world's best high flyers) Ricochet, Will Ospreay, and Matt Sydal.

The bout, which headlined the second BOLA 2016 show, was an incredible thrill ride that never sacrificed proper storytelling or excitement in favor of the other. After one of the most incredible displays of athleticism in wrestling history, the good guys took out The Superkliq with simultaneous shooting star presses.
