Samoa Joe and CM Punk had already thrown out wrestling's rule book during their first encounter by going for a full hour (without too much respite) back in June, and they did it again in October by producing a sequel to rival the original.

This was just about the least everyone expected, though, given that their rivalry - which took a further match a few months later (this time of just half an hour) to completely settle - had grown into such an event that the company saw fit to name an entire show in its honour.

As the hometown hero, Punk this time round had little choice but to fight on the front foot, beginning with a flurry of moves a match that ended once again - one hour later - with both men, after an improvised Brainbuster from the top turnbuckle, strewn across the ring canvas.

The fans chanted for "five more minutes" at the end, but with no time left on the show Joe escaped from Chicago still an undefeated champion, with one more epic battle still to overcome.
