9. NXT Lands On USA Network

If someone had told you in 2010 that sub-Tough Enough spinoff NXT would go on to become a hotbed of wrestling action that'd make Dave Meltzer weak at the knees, you'd have been forgiven for laughing your arse off. Promo contests and obstacle courses did not, fans reasoned, make for unmissable programming.

2019 changed that.

NXT didn't only survive its inauspicious beginnings: it thrived by becoming WWE's developmental farm system and then a powerhouse in its own right. Today, NXT is the proud result of Triple H's vision, WWE's admittance that the old scouting system kinda' sucked and a wealth of hungry young talented workers desperate to make a splash.

The brand has transformed itself from faux-reality laughing stock to earn a slot on the USA Network, and that shouldn't be overlooked. There's a reason social media blew up with happiness when WWE announced that NXT would get a TV deal of its own.
