10 Best Wrestling PPV Matches (That Actually Were On Free TV)

6. Triple H & Steve Austin Vs. Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit (Raw, 2001)

Goldberg Vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan
WWE Network

The tag team titles have traditionally been the preserve of up-and-coming mid-carders rather than established main eventers, but the makeshift team of Triple H and Steve Austin - collectively 'The Two Man Power Trip' - were always going to elevate the belts.

Their unsuccessful title defence against Jericho and Benoit on SmackDown in May 2001 (this was actually the same week as the TLC match, to put into context how good a month this was) was arguably the whole division's crowning moment.

It was a thrilling match, fraught with drama and the not knowing whether the unholy alliance of HHH and Stone Cold would survive the night. In short, the perfect distillation of the Attitude Era.
