10 Best Wrestling Reunions Ever

5. The Shield (2017)

The Shield, complete with Seth Rollins' workrate, the brooding charisma of Roman Reigns and the borderline-psychotic antics of Dean Ambrose, were the best stable of their generation. WWE's decision to split them in 2014 was born only out of a need to see what they could achieve individually.

All would go on to become World Champions, but there was always that niggle in the back of fan minds: what if The Shield reunited?

Those fans would get their wish on the 9 October 2017 Raw. Following weeks of Ambrose and Rollins trying to get Reigns on the same page, the trio showed solidarity by performing their trademark fist gesture. The crowd, for their part, blew up; WWE had succeeded in teasing the reunion long enough that most wanted to see it.

Things wouldn't exactly blossom from there, but WWE couldn't resist seeing what it'd be like having a reformed Shield run riot again. Illness and injury wrecked any chances the return had of working, and it had fizzled out by the end of the year.

At least that pop was loud.
